Sarabande itself – the track – is not based on anything; its an original idea.
However, the form of the whole Sarabande Suite is loosely modeled on a Baroque Dance Suite such as those by JSB. On the track “Gigue” I have quoted the first 24 bars of one of JSB’s English Suites. Maybe that is what you heard?

Bought it because I was a sworn Mark II fan. Played it over and over and over. Then it disappeared for 15 years. Got it back last week from I-Tunes store.
Played it and remembered every note. Like it was a programmed into my soul! Fantastic album!!
