  1. I was so excited by reading this that I just jumped out of bed, scrambled to find my wallet, jumped back into bed, clicked on the “book tickets” link, franticly hammered at the keys on my keyboard to make my internet connection go faster, it finally got there and I managed to book myself a few seats. This is going to be an excellent September this year! 🙂

  2. This is good news. Although “Concerto” has now become a central part of Jon’s live set I was wondering if the actual 40th anniversary will be celebrated in any way. Let’s hope the event will be filmed for a DVD release. There’s never too much of “Concerto” 🙂
By the way, Jon, please don’t forget about “The Gemini Suiite”. It’s a wonderful piece of music too and 2010 marks the 40th anniversary of its first performance with Deep Purple.

  3. Mr. Lord,

I’m very happy that you choice to present your “Concerto …” in my city of birth – Plovdiv (Bulgaria). This year I’ll graduate as master in composition in the National Music Academy (Sofia, Bulgaria) and one of my inspirations to create my “Concerto for classical & electric guitar and symphonic orchestra” was exactly your “Concerto for group and orchestra” (the idea to put instrument like the el. guitar together with an orchestra).

    Best wishes from BULGARIA,
    Vasil
