The photo biography on Jon Lord‘s life and career now comes with a special photo supplement featuring classic photos of Jon by renowned rock photographer Fin Costello. Let’s have a look inside.
The supplement opens with a touching foreword by Glenn Hughes – and is exclusively hand signed by Glenn. It then moves on to a fascinating series of atmospheric full page photos of Jon from the 1970s.
Jon is seen on- and offstage with Deep Purple and solo – including this rare shot of Tim Bogert (of Beck Bogert & Appice) jamming onstage with Deep Purple at Nassau Coliseum in March 1974.
The photos are credited and augmented by insightful quotes from Jon about the highlights of his career; forming Deep Purple, scoring the Concerto, his favourite Deep Purple album, writing the Pictured Within album and much more.
All in all, the Fin Costello photo supplement is a welcome and interesting addition to the full photo biography All Those Years Ago.
The photo book itself traces Jon’s life from early childhood to his final years through rare and unseen photos from Jon’s own archives and those of his family and elsewhere.
The comes with a hand signed foreword by Rick Wakeman, an exclusive 10″ vinyl single of two unreleased Jon Lord solo tracks – All Those Years Ago and Northern Lights – and a DVD of Concerto for Group and Orchestra filmed in 2010.
