well deserved jon, a true legend, genius and a nice man
So well deserved, Absolutely Brillant Gentleman of Music!
Lovely photo and roll on more awards! We all agree the accolades are preserved in value by his work and as time goes by, appreciation will deepen and widen which is what great art is about. Posthumous MBE isn’t too far away. Someone send the queen Boom of the Tingling Strings.
Nice picture.I ‘m sure Jon is smiling in heaven
Congratulations! Jon is and will always be my hero. A true gentleman and a musical genius. The concerto, back in 1969, was the bridge for me to love classical music. I did love Deep Purple and still do!
Eso se merece Jon y mucho más.
Found out the maestro had died when I came back from holiday in July. I don’t think we will see his like again, he was in the same class as Benjamin Britton and Vaughan Williams classically, but as a rock musician he was without peers. I showed my x factor kids an excerpt of purple with Jon and they were blown away when they saw the video. Saw Purple for the first time in 72′ as a 15 year old kid, seen them countless times since. The world is a poorer place without the guy. I think we should lobby to get recognition for the work this man has done
