Jon Lord releases new live album titled simply LIVE. Exclusive teaser available below.
Recorded in Bucharest, Romania in 2009 with a full symphony orchestra, the album includes a glorious selection of orchestral pieces representing Jon Lord’s touring repetoire all over the world in recent years.
From Pictured Within (voted everybody’s no. 1 favourite Jon Lord track on this website) over infectious The Telemann Experiment; the two Sarabande favourites Bouree and Gigue to the female voice delights Wait a While and The Sun Will Shine Again featuring Kasia Łaska.
Steve Balsamo handles male vocals throughout, and the album also includes three completely reworked Deep Purple classics with full orchestral arrangement by Jon Lord; Pictures of Home, Soldier of Fortune and an immense Child in Time.
The Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Nayden Todorov with Darin Vasilev (guitar), Ivaylo Zvezdomirov (bass) and Venko Poromanski (drums) completing the line-up.

Jon acabo de cumplir 52 años, y ya casi no me acuerdo de la primera vez que escuche algo de Uds. ( Deep Purple ), en eso años aca en Chile solo habia una emisora que transmitia algunas horas de musica rock, ( Radio Concierto ), recuerdo haber escuchado el vinilo Machine Head y quedar prendado desde ese momento, ha pasado mucho tiempo y muchas formaciones entremedio, pero, nunca dejo de gustarme la musica que Uds. hacian, me compre algunos vinilos, luego algunos cassettes, y ahora tengo todo el material que he podido consiguir en CD y DVD, ademas he tratado de estar en todas las presentaciones que han hecho en Chile. Tengo ademas casi todo lo que has grabado en solitario, me gusta ese acercamiento que haces de la musica clasica al rock, igual que los enfrentamientos Teclado Y Guitarrra con Steve Morse, geniales.
Pero hoy me entero de que te aqueja un cancer, no sabes cuanto lo siento, y creo que lo unico que puedo decirte en este minuto es SE FUERTE, MENTALMENTE FUERTE, la union de todas las personas que te quieren y aprecian, seran necesarias ahora, y yo desde el otro lado del Mundo, no dire que rezare por ti ( no soy creyente ) pero si te enviare mis mejores vibras, juntos todos haremos una cadena de sanidad.
